ROYAL ACADEMY OF DANCE – BALLET
At the Dance Project we follow the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus – one of the world’s most influential dance education organisations.
Pre-Primary Ballet – Fun ballet classes that encouraging co-ordination, creativity, expression, and musicality through ballet, movement and mime.
Primary Ballet – Introduction to the Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Syllabus.
Ballet Grade 3upwards – These are mixed level classes. Incorporating barre work, centre work with port de bras, adage, allegro and a relaxing cool down to finish.
The Acrobatic Arts syllabus is a fusion of the artistic motion of dance and the athleticism of acrobatics. The syllabus encompasses cardio, strength, balancing, limbering and tumbling. We offer three levels of acro: Mini Acrobatic Arts, Junior Acrobatic Arts and Senior Acrobatic Arts.
Following the ISTD Dance examination board, these are lively but structured classes that develop children’s physical skills. Learn routines to some great music – whilst learning the fundamentals of Tap!
Known for it’s theatrical qualities, Showtime is often seen on the stages of musical productions. Using travelling steps, high kicks, leaps and turns this highly energetic dance style nurtures strength and flexibility – and sometimes singing!
This free form of dance stems from the core of the body and uses elements like contact-release, floor work, fall and recovery and improvisation.
An RAD initiative, this over 50s class is a graceful hour of ballet steps improving core strength and stretching. We offer a beginners’ class and, for those who have danced previously an intermediate class which adapts to all levels.
